Dearne Valley Excelsior was founded in 1989 by Chris Guttridge who had been in the financial services industry since 1984. Success in this field enabled Chris to open the first branch of Dearne Valley Property Centres in Wath upon Dearne.

Shortly afterwards he was joined by his two sons, Shaun and Darren who have gained confidence and expertise up to the present day.

Shaun is now the manager of the Wath Office, which includes an agency for the Barnslev Building Society and is responsible for the day to day administration of the whole business.

Darren is the Company Valuer.

Since 1989 the business has expanded by offering residential and commercial sales, residential and commercial lettings together with advice on mortgages and a property auctioneering department.

The Rental Management department is fully computerised and administered by a full time Manager, Chris Norton who offers the full management service throughout the Deame Valley with plans to expand into the whole of South Yorkshire.

The Auctioneering department was founded in 1996 trading under the name of Chris Guttridge & Sons Auctioneers & Valuers. Having received expert training from the National Association of Estate Agents the auction department has quickly expanded beyond the Dearne Valley area with properties entered from the whole of South Yorkshire and Humberside. The Auction team consists of Chris the Auctioneer and Valuer. Shaun the Auction Co-ordinator and legal executive. Darren the Floor Manager and Valuer.
Our Homes Abroad department trading under the name of Excelsior Homes International offers properties in the Costa Blance region which is situated in the South East coast of Spain around the town of Torrevieja. John Warwick is an established Advisor and offers advice on all types of mortgages. Mortgage advice is given with the help of Mortgage Link a computerised programme linked to most building societies and mortgage lenders which finds the best mortgage to suit the client. Deame Valley Excelsior do not charge a fee for this service.
